The Full Moon on September 24 in Aries squares Saturn and conjuncts Chiron. Mars reentered Aquarius on September 10, and is now retracing its past pattern since May through the end of June. The stress leading up to and following this Full Moon is intense. If you’ve been waiting for something to happen or to activate, this period will bring it. Along with a lot of anger, aggravation and resentment, there might be an explosion of violence or accidents that are fiery and destructive — especially around September 17-19.
A lot of people could suffer in some form, due to the Chiron aspect. Some area of the world might get destroyed or go down. Hopefully the hurricane will not result in setting off fires, extensive destruction, a shutdown of technology or a nuclear accident.
The politics of this time brings Mr. President Trump front and center. The true story is about to be told — at least in part. With many defendants standing in a chorus line around him, some tiny dancer might run right up and tap him on his head. And Jeff Sessions with his Sun, Mars and Moon in Capricorn could get blasted by Saturn shortly before or during the Full Moon.
The release point for the Full Moon is 2 degrees of Cancer. Wherever you have this position in your chart brings a restriction, limitation, karmic adjustment or the exiting of someone in your world. Any partnership that needs an adjustment, a correction or an ending will get tweaked. Aries and Libra and Capricorn and Cancer are especially affected.
Some unprecedented experience/exchange/accident might set off a shutdown or extreme situation, making what seems impenetrable break apart. The next installment of the silent coup will either ignite or vaporize. Wherever nerves are frayed, something or someone snaps.
If you are caught in an untenable situation, it might get worse if you cannot change your attitude. Pluto goes direct September 30 at the degree it’s been traversing since the beginning of 2017. The Saturn aspect says keep on trucking, hold onto your hat and stick with a plan that’s responsible and effective. Do not go in the deep end right now.
This period requires you to be practical and solid and not skip any steps. Patience with others, the environment and the wheels of justice will win out. Mars with the South Node brings the repetition of a past historical period where something that was not fair or correct gets replayed. This replay could ignite a reaction that builds and doesn’t stop or back down. Watch what happens at the end of September and beginning of October.
Venus in Scorpio brings the past love or past experience of love to replay intensely. Where Venus sits in your chart brings the opportunity to look beneath the surface of that thing that never heals and keeps getting wounded or wounds. As a result, the compulsive desire for an outer love intensifies. Stick to what you know, and don’t get caught up in too much drama and passion. You might get with someone very quickly and then get dropped or run away. The desire to be close competes with the same desire to get away. The dance of self with space and attachment/non-attachment is on. Something or someone you have resisted might compel you. If you’re not with anyone romantically, watch for past patterns of compulsive behavior around love, eating, sexuality or feeling undesirable to emerge.
On a lighter note, do not buy fancy clothes, cars or do any cosmetic procedures. This period can make something not go the optimal way. If experimenting with a new look or presentation wait until after December 18.
This period from October 5- November 16 (with the shadow September 3-December 18) marks a Persephone period in your emotional life. The internal feminine goes down to the depths of darkness to find herself. If you have lost yourself with someone, you might be able to emerge at the end of December with a deeper sense of self and wisdom about love, possession and the tradeoff of power for love. You will be more aware of where you go off-track in relationship, especially in terms of giving yourself away or trading something for love and security. Look at how you may be too quick to diminish yourself for the promise of a close bond. This intimacy is based on obsession and the power that comes from being the one chosen over her, them, him or it. Healing comes with a stronger sense of self acting from the dignity of self possession.
The replay comes in the form of seeing the person again, or a doppelganger on your doorstep or in a dream or beckoning you on a stairway to heaven. Something will emerge and you can catch the wave but don’t get drowned in the current.
In summary, the coming two-week period through September 29 will be harsh, abrupt, self-absorbed, and limiting. If anyone acts out this way in your life, don’t be offended; it’s just Mars with a fiery plume of rage and power and ego stomping around. Be unassailable, stay close to yourself, and keep ahold of your temper; don’t get caught up in another’s passion play or wave too many swords around. All the heroes will be out with those big silly feathered hats, posing, posturing and tripping over themselves trying to be bigger than life.
Stay with yourself and walk alongside the parade; just another day on the asylum planet.
INDIVIDUAL SUN AND RISING SIGNS
ARIES has the persistent problem of trying to get something off the ground. After a summer season of frustration and false starts, you are finally tracking with some decision you’ve made. Commitment is hard — and super hard for your sign. Always in a hurry to get to the next thing, you can hardly stand still for the thing you’re doing or the person you’re with. This Full Moon might drive you a little crazier, as it limits your circumstance, movement or time. You have no patience for restriction of any kind.
Home is where the heart is, but where is home? Your anguish with a friend, a group or a dashed hope is insurmountable. A desire to have and to be held keeps receding. Venus in the shadow starts the replay of your obsession with finding that love connection. Whatever has blown up in the home/family or taken hostage of your peace of mind needs attention. Leisure time is not leisure now. Things keep going sideways. The gift of keeping your balance keeps trouble away. You cannot fight everything and the self. TAURUS sees the Full Moon bring a challenge that has been hidden, secret or ignored. A series of decisions around work, or a decision that is off the beaten track, comes to a turning point where there is no going back. An out-of-control situation at work, or with your authority – together with the need to get along with another – is trying. Your plan to travel, expand or legally win a point might be delayed, put off or denied. The thing that you are afraid may undo you might visit you in your sleep, or in private moments. It is a shadow on the threshold. Wherever there has been any kind of security in your life might inexplicably flip. Watch out for surprise health developments for yourself or another.
Venus in the shadow will start opposing you; your partner replays some return experience that is based on power, possessiveness or obsessing. Something that surprised you in the last seven years will return for an adjustment. Siblings and neighbors will be changeable and hard to approach. The theme for the next two weeks is live and let live and don’t count the cost of what you give. It might look real, but what you see is confusing. The gift of this period is to not take freedom and all that you have lightly. Be grateful, even if things are not so perfect.
GEMINI has the Full Moon bring a turning point with a lover, a child or a friend. Discouragement with another is a possibility and brings a wakeup call. Someone close needs your help, and you must decide how much to give or to do. Your resources might take a hit in money, time or energy. The house of debt and taxes and money owed brings some serious news and demands more decisions. You might have to work harder to stay in place.
Venus in the shadow starts to expose a secret about a love or about the nature of your love life. You might need to do some process work with an old ache/pain. Deal with an animal friend that needs more affection. Any possessions or conditions that are rotting or obsolete need to be changed and repaired. This condition involves teeth, a home or a physical purification process. Your work life might need more zest from an energy boost. The gift is to be able to see the light and not cower in the shadows.
CANCER has the Full Moon in your career, authority and public relations house. Any anxiety or discomfort you’re feeling about career and reputation is matched by stress around money, debts and all that’s going out. This Full Moon brings a sense of scarcity, restriction and possibly fear. You might need to slow down energetically. The money situation does not start resolving until mid-November. The release point of this T-square is at 2 degrees of Cancer. Try to let go of feelings that are not conducive to moving forward. Feel safe, and trust yourself to find a way out of the quicksand.
Venus in the shadow starts to identify where there is a creative blockage. The oppressive energy you experience when obsessing about any love or past relationship gone wrong comes back to be noted and addressed. An evolving situation with a partner is transformative as it can go beyond getting stuck with the usual set of problems. Let go of your need to control every outcome, and look into the eyes of who is really out of control. The gift of being centered brings a huge leap forward; you can go in the right direction with faith in self.
LEO is holding the answer to a difficult riddle in your unconscious. The challenge comes when you hit a philosophical high and then are mentally brought down by demands of work and self-care. This part of your life needs more insight. Your secret inner life is all over the place and needs balance and reordering. Emotionally you are looking for a love that will free you from the psychology of being bound by fulfilling a preconceived role.
Venus in the shadow makes the allure of mystery, intrigue and exotica beckon. Yet you are stuck in the doldrum of work, reality and too much responsibility. When you look for distraction you find trouble — and when you flirt with trouble you end up with problems. Stay focused, and don’t get bound up by the intensity of your desires. The gift of understanding what compels you helps to avoid trouble, heartache and alienation and allows you to know how to satisfy your real needs.
VIRGO has the Full Moon in the house of debt and earning. You are conflicted by wanting more pleasure and having so much more work to do. Your romance with life is picking up speed, yet the gruesome twosome of credit and debit live on. Wanting to be free to ramble is limited by the need for discipline in order to attain personal aspirations. Anxiety and the stress of making yet another professional commitment pulls you in different directions. The tipping point of how to balance your resources and take care of obligations without losing your enthusiasm is pivotal.
Any deceit or fantasy played out with Other is hard to grasp. Venus in the shadow helps you see how everything you think and express can actually create your immediate reality. The obsessive part of you keeps going round-and-round with what is not working. Anger and impatience don’t help break through this blockage. The gift of awareness is to see when you set yourself up with unreal expectations of another (or self) you feel abandoned, ignored or threatened. This insight turns the tide of what seems overwhelming. Now is your birthday time to reset all those old demands and criticisms that just won’t shut off. Love the self, all of the self.
LIBRA has the Full Moon in your house of the partner, client or open enemy. Your need for discipline, and to bring things down a notch, is key. Any suffering around the other, or dealing with a client who is suffering, brings a palpable awareness of your empathy. You might need to hustle a little to deal with a minor business slowdown. Insight about connectedness helps ease the sense of loneliness you feel. Career is moving in different directions, from old to new. Progress takes time to stabilize and you can’t push the river.
Venus in Scorpio in its’ shadow, brings the old problem of self-esteem and values back. You often give to the point of exhaustion and then feel underappreciated or undervalued. Time awakens these old feelings. Trace their origin from the family. You can obsess about love but it’s better to let go of identifying with the family’s collective idea about power and worth. The gift of this time is to release what is not working for you psychically. This period is not the end of anything, only a transition to a different relationship with the cycle of prosperity.
SCORPIO has the Full Moon in the house of health and work. You are seeing the cards you were dealt and feel you have no choice. The self is exposed is some way, and you don’t like it. This restriction or suffering involves your psyche‘s habit of secretly desiring a love that will never leave. Something has left, and you’re still standing. You are the psychic center of your world, so embrace the life force of the moment. Everything is a bardo for Scorpio. Always seeing things from the vantage point of an ending, you don’t want to be surprised.
Venus in the shadow in Scorpio makes love, and what you’re currently involved with, all too real and different. It’s either everything or nothing. The extremes in your emotional/sexual/psychic nature are operatic and screaming. Control and obsession are battling with the fear of being devoured or abandoned. Get ahold of yourself and reflect on how you’re the one that keeps upping the ante. The gift in this cycle allows you to go through more purification when facing the nuclear fire burning your heart. Peace in the heart is the only grail that’s worthy.
SAGITTARIUS has the Full Moon in your house of the child, the lover or creativity. The tension to come up with something new is stretching you past your limits. The demand for money and resources slows down your exuberance for anything. Your release point has to do with reinstating a sense of faith in yourself. You can come up with a plan to pay the bills and still enjoy what you have. Teamwork versus the individual can make you feel pressured. The child in you (or literally a child) is having a small tantrum about accepting the reality of how difficult work and obligation can be. Consider balancing the demands you are under with the dreams of an open vista.
Venus in the shadow raises the specter of past loves and how you secretly suffered from a lack of being valued or a lack of valuing the experience. The process of self-healing brings the same old problem in a different form and the same person (actually or symbolically) back into your life again. Swapping a lack of emotional control with financial over control will not work. The gift is to not have to put on the superhero cape. Just be yourself. Being needed is not always a love supreme. Love is unitive, not based on what feats you perform.
CAPRICORN has the Full Moon in your house of home and foundation. The stress you feel around a need to bolster your career and secure the home is pushing you to the max. Your release point is through the partner/client, with tension building right up to (and shortly after) the Full Moon. Don’t identify with being the sole source of the problem. It’s in the air and it’s the karma of the time to review all your options and decide to take a step towards or away from some occupational or personal commitment. This Full Moon brings a family experience that is instructive and healing.
Venus in the shadow makes you question your strategy of quietly going along with everything as a means to avoid loss. Important people help you because they believe in you, not because of a mysterious strategy. Obsessing over power and control makes you the one that’s out of control. The next step is in your hands and yours to decide. The gift of this time is more autonomy around what you choose rather than who or what chooses you. Balance the capacity to cope with the opportunity to choose.
AQUARIUS has the Full Moon in your house of writing and decisions. Something from the last 6 months comes to a head and demands a decision or commitment. Are you up for the next step? Your hidden resistance suspects that the consequence of any decision now will be deep and limiting, and possibly humiliating. Time is at play. The angle of the T-square points to the tension between your values and your mind. They are at odds. The doubt you have about some choice is constant and inescapable.
Venus is in its shadow and the theme of life and death is everywhere. Obsessing about what you can’t have, what is lost or what went away will not help. Your hidden world of control and fear of endings and the forever part is obscured by you over-functioning with small things. The gift of understanding what the family defined as love helps you overcome a blind spot. The ability to get deeper with everything revolves around letting your values and your experience walk hand in hand into the sunset.
PISCES has the Full Moon in your money house. The stress of some debt, burden or commitment coming to a head affects your dreams and plans about stability. Anxiety about a past commitment or action has been creeping up on you since May and activates shortly before the Full Moon. Your energy is low; you need more rest and a break from everyday demands. Fear of disruption – and the claustrophobic feeling of being imprisoned — is building. The issue of suffering due to another’s choices could hit you in your pocketbook/self-esteem sector. You are impatient to see that a money or advancement opportunity can add up.
Venus in its shadow makes the desire for travel and getting away all you can think about. Your past obsession with intensity and having it your way is where you might have taken a wrong turn. Love was a distraction from being with the self by totally being with another. Use this time to consider an alternative that is based on ideals and friendship. Someone from the past shows up, and you can see a difference in how you extend yourself. The gift of sharing what you think and are with another brings a new alchemy. You are your own best friend when you move from avoidance of self to self possession.
